It was founded in 2009 by Sami Huuskonen.

09.04.2011 Sami & Muotokopla received 9000 euro grant from Finnish cultural foundation (Päijät-häme regional fund) for a bus-stop concept design. All english updates are coming now on from Twitter.
23.03. 2011 Sami has started as a designer @ Tehomet. "Tehomet is the Nordic countries’ largest manufacturer of metal and wooden special lighting poles and mast structures as well as composite poles."

Desierto Design plays also a part in a creative society of design called Muotokopla in finnish, ran by 7 design companies. For major projects this society helds Know-How in fields of product-, concept, event-, and fairstand design when needed:
